6. AUSSIE BLONDE HYDRATION
5. SCHWARZKOPF LIVE SILVER SHAMPOO
In at number 5, the Schwarzkopf Live Silver Shampoo is another fairly new product on the market. It has a lovely fresh, herbal scent. Again, great toning abilities, as well as being silicone-free which means it doesn’t coat the hair to give a synthetic shine, unlike many shampoos on the market. It also helps to strengthen the hair and, despite the lack of silicone, leaves my hair looking glossy and feeling smooth after every use.
4. PRO:VOKE TOUCH OF SILVER STRENGTHENING SHAMPOO
At number 4, is the predecessor, the original… Provoke Touch of Silver, except with a strengthening twist. Previously called Schwarzkopf Touch of Silver, which was re-branded some years ago, this was the first purple toning shampoo I used, or had even heard of, when I first decided to try my hand at being a blondie. I remember all too well the first time I bleached my hair. Particularly that terrible shade of brass, which Provoke Touch of Silver shampoo managed to seriously kick to the curb for me! It has a pleasant smell which definitely gives me all the nostalgic feels whenever I use it, although it is quite perfumed and may be bothersome if you’re sensitive to strong fragrances. The strengthening version, which I have been using, is silicone and sulphate free, contains Vitamin B for hair that is shiny and strong, as well as Aquaplex technology to deeply hydrate. My hair is left toned, but also shiny, smooth and healthy-looking.
3. L’OREAL ELVIVE COLOUR PROTECT PURPLE SHAMPOO
2. FANOLA NO YELLOW
In at 2, is the Fenola No Yellow shampoo. This is a big hit among professionals and is often the purple toning shampoo of choice throughout salons. No Yellow definitely has some kick and will totally wipe yellow and brassiness right out of your hair. I regularly use this on clients and left for 5 minutes it will turn you hair completely silver, so approach with caution.
